Zion boasts hiking trails for all ability levels, from the ¼-mile Weeping Rock Trail to the 16-mile length of the Zion Narrows, one of the best-known hikes in Utah. The Narrows, on the other hand, conducts hikers through a gorge where the canyon walls are only 15 feet apart or less in some spots. The hike is not for the faint of heart. Traversing the full length of The Narrows takes approximately 10 hours and hikers cover much of the length by walking in the river and must frequently scramble through its slick boulders. Other hikes for adventure-seekers include the West Rim, the East Rim, Observation Point, Angels Landing and Kolob Arch.
Southern Utah is full of other breathtaking scenery in addition to Zion National Park. Snow Canyon State Park and Red Cliffs Recreation Area are both 20 minutes away from your lodging accommodations at Comfort Inn. Snow Canyon, named for an early Mormon leader and not for the precipitation it receives, is a showcase of red rock scenery, which is easily viewed from the park’s main road and from short, easy hiking trails. Red Cliffs is another spectacle of southern Utah’s red rock landscape and includes a hike up a unique canyon that is appropriate for the whole family. If you seek water recreation, Quail Creek State Park and Sand Hollow State Park boast reservoirs for boating, fishing, swimming and waterskiing.
